Ahmed Dayo,an ND 1 student was shot this afternoon on his way to the school main campus to collect his ID card when he boarded a taxi,the taxi driver later stopped to pick another passenger when a policeman in a bullion van ordered the taxi driver to move off the road.When the policeman attempted to shoot the tyre of the taxi,he missed his aim and Ahmed became a victim as the bullet hit his left leg while the tibia got broken.He was rushed to Ayodele Medical Centre for treatment,after the first aid treatment he was referred to University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for full medical care.
This prompted the policemen to flee to a nearby bank to seek refuge,this infuriated the students as they set a bonfire in the ever busy Murtala Mohammed road,both human and vehicular movements were disrupted. Shops and commercial centers were shut down as the protest lasted . This incidence was confirmed by the Police PRO in the state,Mr Femi Famubode as he also added that some policemen has been sent to restore order.....BUT WHY ARE NIGERIAN FORCES ALWAYS QUICK TO RELEASE BULLET WHEN DEALING WITH UNARMED CIVILIANS?
