The defense headquarter on Friday announced that some insurgents who were in search of food in quantum has been tracked down and apprehended by troops of the Special Forces.
Brigadier General Chris Olukolade made this known why giving an update on the enforcement of the emergency rule in Borno,Yobe and Adamawa States,he said a stolen vehicle and weapons were recovered from them.
However, Olukolade attributed the success of the tracking down of the terrorists to the co-operation of the civilians who supplied a timely information that led to thier arrest. "The group which was moving around in a Toyota Land Cruiser jeep with registration number Borno XA 428 ADM which is suspected to have been stolen was eventually arrested at Daban Masara with weapons such as AK 47 rifle,single barrel shot gun,double hand shot gun and various calibres of ammunition. "In other locations,a total of 56 identified insurgents were apprehended with the help of military police dogs.Items recovered include two packs of IEDs,two rocket propelled gun chargers,a rifle magazine,two matchetes,bomb detonators,camouflage and other military uniforms as well as medicine equipments,charms,seven vehicles including a jeep and eight tricycles." He finally said that some stranded terrorists are keen on establishing new camps."....they are been trailed accordingly and the campaign to rid the nation's territories off the insurgents continues"
