Majekodunmi Fasheke, known more as Majek Fashek,a well known Nigerian reggae musician, who achieved popularity in the late 80's with his popular song "SEND DOWN THE RAIN". For years he was both a darling of reggae music lovers and lovers of good music.
In an interview with Naijalog journalist,ABIJADE, Fasheke spoke on many issues about his life and career. He also praised the contemporary reggae musicians for getting rid of charms and jealousy, which he said was at a very high rate during their own time.On how he felt after been abandoned by friends,Fasheke rather said he came back to Nigeria from America to save Nigeria,a dream he said requires $100 million.
He said "......see let me talk about Nigeria, people are suffering, people are dying and yet government is not doing anything about it. Goverment is expected to be paying our electricity bills, people pay their bills, yet they are not enjoying it. I want to become the President of Nigeria but I need $1 million to make that dream come true." When Abijade asked if he was joking, Fasheke said "No, I am very serious o,I want to be the president of Nigeria. We are living in hell in Nigeria. One doesn't need to die before going to hell. We are already in hell in Nigeria."
