Mr Mandela,94 has been ill for some days but deteriorated overnight and was transferred to hospital in Pretoria. Mandela who has recently suffered a series of health problem and this is his 5th visit to hospital in two years. Mandela was released from hospital after a ten day stay caused by pneumonia. But this time around,it is a recurrence of a lung infection which has troubled him repeatedly,which was said to have developed while he served his prison terms years back. He was taken to hospital from home in a suburb of Johannesburg at about 1:30 local time.
